Payton Initiative for Education (PIE) is a non-profit organization designed to build and manage an endowment fund ensuring the legacy of academic excellence at Walter Payton College Prep High School. As the endowment grows, the income generated will be used to help reduce the annual fundraising burden created by the lack of funding for programs and supplies in critical areas, such as professional development, student travel scholarships, technology, and athletic/extracurricular programs. To date the PIE endowment has reached 24% of the $3 million goal, which is when monies will be dispersed to Payton. Ensure excellence by making a donation to Payton Initiative for Education (PIE) today! No amount is too small, and none is too great! Thank you for your support.

As a publicly funded school, Payton is subject to the same financial challenges as every other school within the Chicago Public School system. Payton Initiative for Education {PIE) will help ensure our future by providing funding in the following critical areas:

  • Teacher Training and Professional Development- Payton does not receive public funding for training or development which is critical to attract, retain and train top teachers in the state.
  • International Student Travel-International travel is an invaluable learning experience and every current student interested is afforded that opportunity, regardless of personal ability to pay.
  • Student Athletic and Extra-Curricular Clubs and Activities - Payton does not receive public funding for uniforms, equipment, practice/game rental spaces or transportation.
  • Technology- Payton does not receive public funding for technology. Every computer in our school was paid for with private funds.
  • Capital Improvements-Although Payton is receiving public monies to build an addition to the school, Payton is not receiving any public funding to update and maintain the existing facility.

Ensure excellence by making a donation to Payton Initiative for Education (PIE) today! Please give as generously as possible. No amount is too small, and none is too great! Thank you for your support.
